PLC has provided Family Preservation services in Prince George's County since April 1999. Family Preservation provides families in crisis with therapeutic services that adequately protect children, while supporting and strengthening the family. The ultimate goal of the program is to minimize the out-of-home placement of identified at risk children. Staff provides intensive in-home intervention, and works collaboratively with families in establishing and achieving specific treatment goals. The program combines the NTU (pronounced "in-to") Afrocentric treatment model with the Homebuilder's short-term, intensive intervention model.
