PLC has provided Functional Family Therapy (FFT) services in Prince George's County since 2008. FFT is a community-based, family-focused intervention and prevention program. FFT is an empirically grounded, well-documented and highly successful family intervention program for dysfunctional youth. FFT is one of the nationally recognized Blueprints model programs that have been shown to reduce recidivism and strengthen family functioning. It is also one of the only interventions named by the US Surgeon General as a model program for seriously delinquent youths. The program will provide short-term, intensive, strength-based family therapy over a 120-150 day period. The services will reduce participant arrest, improve behavior, and strengthen youth and family resiliency.
